How to use the Walt Disney World Mobile Ordering Service
We all love the convenience of Mobile Ordering at Walt Disney World Resorts and Parks. It allows you to spend less time in food lines and more time enjoying the parks or getting food quickly on the go at your resort! Since reopening mobile ordering is being used exclusively at some quick-service locations to better enforce social distancing. So, we thought you might need a quick tutorial for you to understand how to use mobile ordering on your next visit.
You will first need to download the My Disney Experience App to use this service at most quick-service locations inside ethe parks and a few restaurants at the resort hotels and Disney Springs! The app is easy to use and walks you through the process.
Once downloaded click the “+” icon at the bottom or pull up the side menu and click “Mobile Food Orders.” When you use the side menu, it will say if you have an order and gives you the option to create a new order. When you hit the “+” button, there is an option called “Order Food” that will come up.
TIP: Order about an hour before you are hungry because mobile ordering can take a while to get through the queue of existing orders
Find the restaurant you want to order from and pick your arrival time window. When you select your location, you will be prompted to pick an arrival time window from the available 40-minute slots, similar to how you used to create a FastPass+ reservation. Besides viewing the menu for the location, you can click on “Find on Map” and “Get Directions” to see how far you are from the restaurant selected and get directions to get there if needed.
Now you can create your yummy order. The menu provided is detailed with descriptions. Which is super handy for someone with food allergies or picky kids. When you use this for the first time I would pull aside and take it slowly to learn the system and not rush through. Once you get comfortable with this part of the app you can even fill it out while riding through It’s a Small World! The ordering system is broken down into categories that includes entrees, sides, kids’ meals, beverages, desserts, plant-based and allergy friendly options. Being the Mom of an allergy kid, I love that I can make selections from an allergy friendly menu. I just always double check when I pick up my order to make sure they did meet the allergy friendly request.
It is time to purchase! After you have reviewed your details, pay for your order using a credit card, debit card, Disney gift card, Disney rewards redemption card or Apple Pay. Hopefully, this list will include the Disney Dining Plan again in the future. You can do your mobile ordering as far in advance as you want if the restaurant is currently open. You also have the option to change your order or cancel the order.
Turn on your notifications! You will receive a mobile alert when your order is ready! You will then receive an order number and be told which pick-up station number you should head to. Right now, Cast Members are not allowing anyone inside the restaurant until their food is ready for pick up. You will have to show the Cast Members at the entrance that your food is ready, and they will let you through.
Do not forget to pick up your food though because you will still be charged for your order if you do not pick it up. I suggest playing around with the app and the ordering before you go to make it a smooth process once you are inside and ready to order.
